The dog house was a plastic barrel filled with pine straw, elevated a couple feet above the ground. I got a friend that has a hole in the ground underneath each dog house. Nice lay out for the one sheet of plywood They walk in the door thru the hall, then turn to get into the house. Don't center it cause the wind will be more directly on the hound. Its framed with 2x4's has plywood on the inside walls and 2" foam insulation in walls and roof.Īnother thing u can do is put the entrance hole on the side instead of in the center. I think I used about 5 sheets of plywood for this one. By nailing blocks to the inside of the roof it can simply sit on top of the house without sliding and be conveniently lifted off when cleaning out the house. The front and back panels also overlap the bottom. ![]() When nailing together - the sides overlap the bottom, front and back panels. ![]() When using ¾" material nailing strips are not necessary, however, note that the floor should then measure 33 ½" in length. Nailing strips should be used for reinforcing the contact points.
